Ancestral Memory represents transitions - moving from one place and culture to another. Creating this series was a meditative process, drawing from ancestral wisdom and energy. The pieces are an exploration of staying in the present, through observing and recording the seasonal changes, while simultaneously honouring the past. Ancient African writing and symbols stake claim to power, resistance and resilience.
